All driver services facilities in Illinois will be closed March 17 through March 31 due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Illinois Secretary of State announced Monday.
Secretary of State Jesse White said the closure comes at the recommendations of “experts endorsing social distancing efforts.”
Expiration dates for driver’s licenses, ID cards, vehicle registrations and other transactions and document filing will be extended by 30 days through an emergency ruling, according to the secretary’s office.
