Rivian and Ford are dropping plans to build a Lincoln-branded electric vehicle in Normal.
The move is a response to struggles within the auto industry related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ford says the overall partnership between the companies remains strong and that work will continue on an alternative vehicle based on Rivian’s platform.
