More local jurisdictions around Illinois are rebelling against Governor JB Pritzker’s orders forcing non-essential businesses to close to slow the spread of coronavirus.
East Peoria is allowing what it calls a phased reopening of businesses in that community. Barbershops, salons, and gyms have been allowed to reopen with proper social distancing. On May 15th, bars and restaurants can reopen at 50-percent capacity.
Pritzker says those moves will lead to more people getting sick.
