Illinois health officials are starting to distinguish between COVID-19 related deaths and the deaths of COVID-19 positive patients from other causes.
Over 3600 people with COVID-19 have died in Illinois, but the number includes people whose death wasn’t COVID-19 related.
Officials are now adjusting numbers to account only for the actual death toll from COVID-19.
