As Cities 92.9 reported earlier, the state Department of Public Health says it is withdrawing the emergency rule implemented last week aimed at putting some teeth behind Governor JB Pritzker’s business restrictions imposed because of coronavirus.
Now, the state will instead pursue legislation to accomplish the same effect. The bill would make clear that violations would only result in a fine, not in the threat of jail time.
