It could have been a lot worse.
Firefighters say a major blaze was averted Monday morning thanks to some closed doors at Epiphany Farms at 220 E Front St. in downtown Bloomington.
According to the Bloomington Fire Dept., heat generated by cleaning rags ignited and caused the fire to spread to linens in a laundry area sometime before firefighters responded to the scene around 8 a.m..
Firefighters say rest of the building was spared due to the room’s doors being closed, extinguishing the flame to due to lack of oxygen.
