A Bloomington man may get evicted after he hung a Black Lives Matter banner on his balcony.
Donavon Burton has been served with a ten-day eviction notice. Burton had hung the banner at his apartment complex on Clobertin Court about a month ago.
Landlord First Site reached out to Burton’s boss to try to convince the tenant to take down the banner. The Vice President of the company also came to Burton’s apartment and took the flag down two weeks after it was put up.
Burton has filed discrimination complaints with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
