The tiny house being raffled for two local charities will be open for public viewing this weekend. Saturday, August 1, visitors may tour the house between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. The tiny house will be open at Midwest Food Bank, 2031 Warehouse Road, Normal.
The 220 sq. ft. home was built by Mike Gilmore, a home builder and Realtor for over 40 years. Proceeds from the raffle will benefit Midwest Food Bank and Spread Truth Ministries. Gilmore has been involved with these two non-profits for several years, and has witnessed their impact.
Raffle tickets are currently on sale with the winning ticket drawn on August 28. 2,000 tickets will be sold at a price of $75 for 1 ticket or $195 for 3 tickets. Tickets are available at tinyhousebigimpact.com. The tiny house is valued at $50,000.
“We’re excited to show tiny house enthusiasts the home Mike has built,” says Tara Ingham, Executive Director of Midwest Food Bank Bloomington-Normal. “We’re thankful for his generous donation.”
