McLean County is now at a High COVID-19 Community Level, meaning that there is potential for strain on the health care system, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
It is strongly recommended that in areas of High COVID-19 Community Levels all residents wear masks while indoors in public places regardless of their vaccination status. Those at high-risk of severe disease should also talk to their healthcare provider about whether they need to take additional precautions and about whether they are candidates for treatments like oral antivirals, PrEP, and monoclonal antibodies.
This week the CDC reported that McLean County saw 15.1 new hospital admissions of COVID-19 per 100,000 people in the seven days ending on 05/31/22. McLean County also reported 298.51 new COVID-19 cases per 100,000 people in the 7 days ending on 06/01/22 per the CDC.
McLean County Health Department (MCHD) encourages that everyone take time now to review recommendations from the CDC and take precautions to protect themselves and those most vulnerable in their households, workplaces, and the community.
