The McLean County Finance Committee met on Wednesday July 6 and approved three positions changes. Two were reclassifications of existing positions. The third is a new part time position. McLean County Administrator Cassy Taylor presented the position requests to the Finance Committee.
The first position request was made to Taylor by Vanessa Granger-Belcher, Director of Behavioral Health Coordination. Granger-Belcher requested that the position of Behavioral Health Project Coordinator be reclassified to Assistant Director of Behavioral Health Coordination.
The reclassification was requested as a result of changes of assigned duties and reorganization in the department. The old position will no longer exist on the books so no additional personnel will be brought on later as a result of this reclassification.
The two other requests were made by Molly Evans, Executive Director for the Children’s Advocacy Center and Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Programs to Taylor.
The first of those two positions was for a part time Case Manager position. The Illinois CASA Association (ICASAA) will fund this position with a grant. With the funding the McLean County CASA program will be able to serve more children who have suffered child abuse or neglect.
The position is dependent upon the grant funding continuing or donors from fund raising efforts. Should those funding sources not be available in the future the position would be eliminated.
The second request was to reclassify a Program Manager position from level 10E to level 11. This will not result in any additional employees or job positions.
Taylor explained to Cities 92.9 how fund raising helps pay some salaries in the department.
“The county has an established relationship with Children’s Protection Network. And that is a fund raising body that is fully separate from any county department that fundraises in the community and they help support advocacy groups in the community including our CASA program.”
