Downtown Bloomington hosted Once Upon a Holiday on Friday evening, a First Friday event that featured live window vignettes. Cities 92.9 visited downtown to check out the displays.
2 FruGALS Thrift Store window featuring Santa’s workshop was one of the best vignettes in our opinion featuring two of the cutest elves you could ever see. The elves were grandchildren of one of the store’s owners, Carol Wilson.
We visited Main Gallery 404 where artist and co-owner Brian Simpson was near the front window drawing portraits for tips. We spoke with another co-owner, Jared Lacy.
Lacy told us, “This is the time of year when all retail is at its peak and it is so fun meeting different people in here all of the time. I can’t imagine all the people that I have met that’s friends now that have come in and out of this gallery.”
Specs Around Town invited everyone to Snowplow into the Specs Chalet and featured winter games in their window. Specs Around Town has been in business for over 25 years and owner Julie Kubfch said they have done over 20 vignettes over the years.
Cities 92.9 enjoyed the displays and encourages you to shop small.
