The City of Bloomington has announced it is becoming an Autism Inclusive Employer. This achievement will be a significant milestone in the City’s ongoing efforts to create a more inclusive and welcoming environment for all employees.
As part of the program, the City is partnering with Kulture City to raise awareness with employees to support workers and colleagues with sensory needs like ASD and other neurodiverse conditions. This includes training programs for managers to learn workplace accommodations and how individuals with sensory needs view the world.
By becoming an Autism Inclusive Employer, the City said it is demonstrating its commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion for all. The hope is this initiative will encourage other employers in the City to follow their lead.
