Officers from Normal PD responded to the 100 block of West Raab Road for a vehicle accident at. at approximately 12:21am on Sunday. Upon arrival, Officers found a single vehicle which had struck a utility pole.
Officers tended to multiple victims from the crash and were assisted by the Normal Fire Department along with other first responder agencies. Multiple victims were transported to local medical facilities.
The McLean County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene. Pronounced deceased by McLean County Coroner Kathy Yoder was Noe R. Mendiola, age 22, of Bloomington.
Preliminary autopsy opinion indicates that Mr. Mendiola died from multiple blunt force injuries. Toxicology testing is pending.
At this time the cause of the accident is being investigated by the McLean County Accident Reconstruction Team.
This incident remains under investigation by the McLean County Coroner’s Office and the Normal Police Department.
