Connect Transit will provide transportation for families in the community to attend the Back2School Alliance Backpack Event hosted in the North Parking lot of State Farm South at 3 State Farm Plaza in Bloomington. The event will take place on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
The Back2School Alliance provides backpacks and school supplies to students in both Unit 5 and District 87. Unit 5 will provide transportation to its students and families while District 87 students and families will be able to use Connect Transit from an existing stop listed in the route schedule on the reverse side of this press release. The bus will pick-up riders at designated bus stops at the times shown, will wait for participants to collect their bags, and will return them to their original stop location. Look for the buses that say, “Welcome Aboard”!

The Connect Transit shuttle is open to both District 87 and Unit 5 participants at the stops listed. Students must have pre-registered for school, be present, and be accompanied by an adult. They will be asked to exchange their invitation to receive a backpack and school supplies. Below are the route and shuttle schedule for the event.
