Bloomington police officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Valley View Circle, for a report of person who had been shot just before 11 am on Thursday.
The victim, a 16-year-old male, was located with an apparent gunshot wound. Paramedics with the Bloomington Fire Department transported the victim to an area hospital. The victim was transferred, via Life Flight, to another hospital. He is currently listed in critical condition.
Chief Jamal Simington stated, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim of this violent encounter. I am grateful for the dedicated emergency dispatchers, police officers, detectives, paramedics, as well as the medical professionals who are continuing to provide medical care to the victim.”
