Despite earlier admitting to police he did it, 50-year-old Monroe Elbert of Bloomington pleaded not guilty via his public defender Friday to the stabbing death of his wife following an argument Feb. 5th at their home. The Pantagraph reports Elbert was arraigned on four counts of murder and two counts of aggravated battery of a child. Bloomington police say Elbert admitted shortly after the incident to stabbing Nicole Elbert with a large butcher knife and led officers to the second floor bedroom in the 600 block of North McLean where his wife’s body was found with multiple stab wounds to her neck
