The Normal Police Department announced it made 0 DUI arrests and issued 22 seatbelt citations during the St. Patrick’s Day enforcement period. NPD conducted 9 STEP details for a total of 36 hours of grant funded patrol. NPD issued 49 citations over 47 traffic stops. The citations were for: 22 seatbelt, 1 child passenger safety, 21 speeding, 1 distracted driving and 4 for all other violations.
The Normal Police Department joined forces with state and local law enforcement and highway safety partners in the St. Patrick’s Day enforcement campaign.
The safety effort was funded by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
