Surrounded by family, colleagues, and community supporters, Jon Albee officially announced his candidacy for McLean County Sheriff on the Republican ticket.
Albee, a 15-year veteran of the McLean County Sheriff’s Office, emphasized his career-long commitment to public safety and service, stating, “I’m not a politician. I’m a career law enforcement professional who cares deeply about keeping people safe and supporting those who protect our community.”
During the campaign kickoff, Albee outlined a three-pillar platform focused on investing in people, modernizing technology, and enhancing community safety. His plans include improved training and wellness programs for deputies, upgrading investigative tools, and increasing efforts to combat internet crimes against children and ensure school safety.
Albee credited outgoing Sheriff Matt Lane and former Sheriff Jon Sandage for their leadership, pledging to build on their legacy while leading the office into the future.
“I’m honored to pursue the opportunity to serve as the next Sheriff of McLean County,” Albee said. “If elected, I will lead with transparency, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to fairness and safety for all.”
