Uptown Normal will be transformed into a giant playground this Saturday, Sept. 27, as the Children’s Discovery Museum hosts its annual Day of Play, presented by PNC Bank. The free event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and offers hands-on educational and recreational activities for children, families and caregivers.
More than 60 community partners will take part, with activities including STEAM projects, art stations, a Touch-a-Truck exhibit, a bike rodeo, and dance demonstrations. Daniel Tiger and Katerina Kittycat from Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood will also make special appearances.
Road closures around Uptown Normal will begin at 6 a.m. Saturday, including sections of North Street, East Beaufort Street, and Constitution Boulevard. Streets are expected to reopen by 4:30 p.m.
The Day of Play is part of a national initiative encouraging families to spend time learning and playing together. For details, visit ChildrensDiscoveryMuseum.net.
