An El Paso man was arrested Tuesday evening on a federal warrant accusing him of making threats against the President.
Police say officers and FBI agents conducted a traffic stop around 7:38 p.m. at 620 W. Main Street, where they apprehended the suspect, identified as Derek Lopez. Authorities report Lopez was taken into custody without incident.
Lopez was transported to the El Paso Police Department for questioning by FBI and Secret Service personnel before being booked into the Woodford County Jail on federal detention. Woodford County Animal Control assisted during the arrest due to a dog being inside the vehicle.
