Police say an 18-year-old Normal man has been arrested in connection with a Wednesday morning shooting that left one person seriously injured.
Officers were called to a home in the 700 block of Hale Street around 3:30 a.m., where they found a victim who had been struck by gunfire. Police and firefighters provided emergency care before the victim was taken to a local hospital and later transferred to an out-of-area medical facility for further treatment. The individual remains hospitalized and is receiving ongoing care.
Following an investigation, Normal Police identified Keinon S. Green, 18, as the suspect. A McLean County warrant was issued, and Green was taken into custody by the McLean County Sheriff’s Office. He faces multiple charges, including attempted first-degree murder, aggravated battery, and aggravated discharge of a firearm. Police say the incident appears isolated, and there is no indication of a broader threat to the community.
All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
