The Normal Police Department has released its Thanksgiving enforcement totals following participation in Illinois’ “Click It or Ticket” and “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaigns from Nov. 21 to Dec. 2.
Officers conducted 77 traffic stops, issuing 71 citations. Those included 41 speeding tickets, 14 seat-belt citations, two electronic device violations, and 14 other traffic offenses. No DUI arrests were reported.
The enforcement effort was funded through federal traffic safety grants administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
