You should expect a larger-than-usual police presence at Normal West Thursday.
School officials say a written threat was found in a boy’s restroom this week stating that a shooting would take place Thursday at the school.
This is taken from to an email sent to parents by Principal Dave Johnson:
“We have spent a great deal of time and energy investigating this issue with the help of the Normal Police Department,” said Johnson in the email.
Johnson said the school day and scheduled activities will continue as planned and that ff a parent chooses to keep their child home from school, they must call the attendance line. The absence will be marked as excused and the student will be required to make up school work.
