Carle Health has appointed Robert Cavagnol, MD, as president of its Bloomington-Normal service area, effective Feb. 2, 2026. He succeeds longtime leader Colleen Kannaday, who is retiring after 15 years with Carle BroMenn Medical Center and Carle Eureka Hospital.
Dr. Cavagnol brings extensive executive and clinical experience, most recently serving as president of Froedtert ThedaCare Health’s North Region in Wisconsin, where he oversaw nine hospitals and 180 care locations. A board-certified general surgeon and former U.S. Navy trauma surgeon, he has also held leadership roles in Idaho and Missouri.
In his new position, Cavagnol will oversee operations at Carle BroMenn, Carle Eureka and affiliated outpatient centers. Carle executive vice president Matthew Kolb said Cavagnol’s combination of physician leadership and operational discipline will support expanded access and improved patient experience across the region.
