Normal Firefighters IAFF Local 2442 will host a second public town hall meeting Thursday, January 29, at 6 p.m. at the Bloomington Public Library, 205 E. Olive Street. The event is sponsored by LIFE-CIL.
The presentation will highlight findings from Local 2442’s newly released GIS Community Needs Study, which examines response times, staffing shortages, call-volume growth, and the impact of the proposed relocation of Fire Station 2. Organizers say the study is the most comprehensive analysis yet of fire and EMS coverage in Normal.
The event is open to residents, business owners, civic groups, and elected officials interested in learning how community growth and current deployment plans are affecting emergency services. The program will include a presentation, question-and-answer session, and information on how to review the full study online.
Advance registration is encouraged through the Normal Firefighters Local 2442 social media pages. Organizers note the town hall is hosted independently by Local 2442 and is not sponsored by the Town of Normal.
