The City of Bloomington has lifted the Severe Drought Proclamation issued February 5, 2026, following recent rainfall that has improved reservoir levels.
City officials say the added precipitation has stabilized water conditions, though the community is not fully recovered. Bloomington remains under a Moderate Drought Alert Phase, with a combined water deficit of about 8.7 feet as of this week.
City Manager Jeff Jurgens said improved inflow allowed reservoirs to rebound enough to remove the severe designation, but noted that conditions will continue to be closely monitored. Mayor Dan Brady called the update encouraging for residents and businesses, emphasizing the importance of reliable water supply for the community’s stability and growth.
Officials are urging residents and businesses to continue conserving water as recovery efforts continue, with further updates to be provided as conditions change.
