The Central Illinois Regional Airport Authority is asking the public to donate food and household supplies to support Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers working without pay during the ongoing partial government shutdown.
Airport Executive Director Carl Olson said the effort was coordinated with local TSA leadership to provide practical help for officers who continue reporting to work and maintaining airport security.
Donations, including $20 grocery or gas gift cards, nonperishable food, and household items, can be dropped off at the airport security checkpoint or at airport authority offices on the mezzanine level between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
