Downtown Bloomington will mark the 100th anniversary of historic Route 66 with a special “Saturdays on the Square” event on June 6, part of the countywide Cruisin’ Through the Century celebration.
The 1960s-themed event will include:
- Live music from Motown Nation
- A 1960s-era classic car show
- A kids zone with family activities
- Local food vendors and community booths
- A 1960s costume contest
- Recognition of notable Route 66 community members
Festivities will take place on the Downtown Square, with free perimeter parking, nearby time-limited spaces and public parking decks available. City officials encourage attendees to arrive early and explore downtown businesses during the event.
