Normal Community High School received a call reporting a threat at approximately 8:00 a.m., on Tuesday, May 5. Accoeding to a press release from the Normal Police Dept., information raised safety concerns for the school and those inside.
McLean County Unit 5 School District staff immediately implemented established safety protocols, and a decision was made to safely and orderly relocate all students and staff to a designated reunification site.
The Normal Police Department immediately assisted with the investigation and relocation process while securing the school property. NPD is working in coordination with local and state partners to investigate the source and nature of the threat. Additional information will be provided as more information becomes available.
