The Normal Town Council will take up a Welcoming City ordinance at its meeting tonight. A Welcoming ordinance regulates communication between local police officers and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE. According to social media, the Keep Families Together Coalition will stage a rally at Uptown Circle at about 6:15 p.m. tonight prior to the meeting and later attend the council session to register support for the ordinance.
