A man has been formally charged in connection with a June 25 shooting in the 700 block of North Golfcrest in Normal.
The McLean County State’s Attorney’s Office has filed multiple felony charges against Maurice Delaney following a review of the Normal Police Department investigation. The charges include two counts of aggravated battery involving the discharge of a firearm, two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon by a previously convicted felon, possession of a firearm without a valid FOID card, aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon, and aggravated battery causing great bodily harm.
Delaney remains in custody at the McLean County Jail. The victim remains hospitalized and is listed in stable condition. Authorities remind the public that all defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
