A former Normal resident has been sentenced to 24 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections following a child sexual abuse material investigation that began in 2022.
Thirty-year-old Tyler S. Kiefer was sentenced Tuesday after pleading guilty to multiple child sexual abuse material-related offenses. The investigation began when a Normal Police detective assigned to the Illinois Attorney General’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force launched an investigation based on a cyber tip.
Investigators identified Kiefer as being in possession of multiple images of child sexual abuse material. He was arrested in June 2025 on a McLean County warrant. Anyone with information that may assist Normal Police investigations is asked to contact the Criminal Investigations Division at 309-454-9593.
