Legacy Center Property to Be Listed for Sale as Organization Focuses Investment on Future Growth and Member Experience
BLOOMINGTON, IL — Four Seasons Health Club announced today that it will place the Legacy Center property, located at 904 Four Seasons Road in Bloomington, on the market beginning July 22, 2026, as part of a long-term strategy to strengthen the organization’s financial sustainability and continue investing in the member experience for years to come.
The Legacy Center will continue operating without interruption through August 31, 2026, providing members continued access to programs, activities, and services during the transition period. The facility will cease operations effective September 1, 2026.
The decision follows more than a year of evaluation by the Four Seasons Board of Directors and leadership team regarding facility usage, long-term capital needs, and the organization’s future investment priorities.
“In every decision we make, we ask what best positions Four Seasons to serve this community not just today, but for the next generation,” said Tony Maier, President and CEO of Four Seasons Health Club. “This transition allows us to focus our resources where they will have the greatest impact on member experience, future investments, and the long-term strength of the organization.”
Four Seasons has served the Bloomington-Normal community for more than six decades and remains committed to its mission of helping individuals and families pursue healthier lives through fitness, wellness, recreation, and community connection.
In August 2025, the organization implemented operational changes that repositioned FS1, the club’s original location on Four Seasons Road, as the Legacy Center. These changes reduced operating expenses while preserving programs and member access. Although the transition improved operational efficiency, continued declines in facility utilization and significant long-term maintenance needs led management to conclude that concentrating future investments at the Airport Road location would best support the organization’s long-term strategic vision.
The Airport Road facility, located at 2401 Airport Road in Bloomington, serves as Four Seasons’ primary fitness and wellness destination and will become the center of the club’s growth initiatives, premium wellness services, group fitness programming, personal training, recovery offerings, and member engagement efforts.
“This was a difficult and emotional decision, made only after years of the Board and management carefully evaluating options to preserve the Legacy Center and support its long-term sustainability. Following the most recent review, the Board unanimously supported management’s recommendation to market the location for sale. This vote reflects our fiduciary responsibility to ensure the long-term strength of the Health Club,” said Carl Bridges, Chair of the Four Seasons Health Club Board of Directors.
“We are optimistic that a new owner can make the investments needed for the location to remain a valuable community resource. This transition also allows Four Seasons to focus on its core strengths, invest in the member experience, and continue serving the Bloomington-Normal community for years to come.”
Four Seasons leadership emphasized that the organization remains financially committed to the Bloomington-Normal community and plans to continue investing in programming, services, technology, and facility improvements. Recent initiatives include expanded corporate wellness opportunities for area businesses, new member engagement programs, loyalty and referral initiatives, recovery services, enhanced member support technology, and ongoing improvements designed to strengthen the overall member experience.
The organization also expressed appreciation for the Legacy Center’s longstanding role within the community.
“The Legacy Center has been the setting for countless memories, family activities, youth programs, athletic events, and community connections,” said Maier. “We are incredibly grateful for its role in our history and hopeful that a future owner will continue to recognize its value and significance within Bloomington-Normal.”
Four Seasons will continue communicating with members, employees, and community partners throughout the transition process and will provide regular updates as additional information becomes available.
