(The Center Square) – According to AAA, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Illinois is 30 cents higher than it was one month ago and 90 cents higher than it was one year ago.
AAA listed the average Illinois price at $4.34 on Monday, up from $4.04 on July 3 and $3.44 on August 3, 2025.
The national average on Monday was $4.10. The average prices in states bordering Illinois are all below $4 per gallon.
MURDER CHARGES FILED IN LAKE MATTOON DEATH INVESTIGATION
First-degree murder charges have been filed in connection with the death of a man whose remains were found in Lake Mattoon on June 28.
James Adams, 26, and Robin Turner, 62, were previously charged with concealment of a homicide and dismembering a human body following the death of Dalewayne Turner, 38, of Plainfield.
Illinois State Police said further searches of the lake and a residence in Plainfield led to the additional charges.
ROOSEVELT UNIVERSITY OPENS SUBURBAN BUSINESS HUB
Roosevelt University has scheduled a ribbon cutting and business symposium on Tuesday to celebrate the opening of the Roosevelt Incubator for Schaumburg Enterprises at the school’s Schaumburg campus.
School officials say the new regional hub is dedicated to entrepreneurship, workforce development, experiential learning and small business success.
The event is free and open to the public.
