(The Center Square) – Gov. J.B. Pritzker, the Illinois Capital Development Board and the Illinois Department of Public Health announced on Wednesday that $50 million has been awarded to 21 facilities through the Community Health Center Construction Grant Program.
Of the $50 million total, more than $32.9 million was awarded to facilities in Cook County.
STATE EPA ENERGY EFFICIENCY GRANTS OFFERED
Illinois Environmental Protection Agency Director James Jennings has announced $766,600 in federal funding for projects that include upgrades identified in an energy efficiency assessment or audit conducted within the last five years.
Grants are provided through the U.S. Department of Energy State Energy Program and will be capped at a maximum of $200,000 per grantee.
ICC TO HOST SECOND FORUM FOR ILLINOIS AMERICAN WATER CUSTOMERS
The Illinois Commerce Commission has announced that it will hold a second in-person forum for Illinois American Water customers who wish to comment on the utility’s proposed $142.4 million rate increase.
The forum is scheduled to be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m on Sept. 16 at the Bolingbrook Community Center.
When requesting the rate hike in January, Illinois American Water estimated the typical residential customer would pay an extra $14 per month.
CHICAGO FED’S NATIONAL FINANCIAL CONDITIONS INDEX DROPS
The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago’s National Financial Conditions Index decreased to –0.56 in the week ending Aug. 14, suggesting looser financial conditions.
BLUE ISLAND MAN ARRESTED AFTER VEHICLE THEFT FROM AUTO HAULER
Illinois State Police have arrested a Blue Island man in connection with the theft of an Audi off an auto hauler at the Chicago Southland Lincoln Oasis on Interstate 294 in May.
Jose Gudino, 22, was identified as the suspect and arrested on Monday after the Posen police department located a stolen vehicle.
Gudino is charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle and two counts of aggravated fleeing and eluding.
