The Balloons Over 66 Weekend will get underway Friday, August 28, in Lincoln with a full schedule of activities downtown and at Open Arms.
The day begins with Dock Dogs, with registration and practice at noon and competition starting at 1 p.m. The KCBS Steak Ancillary Contest will run from 4 to 8:30 p.m., followed by the Lincoln Art Institute’s Art Fair from 5 to 8 p.m. at its downtown location.
The evening features a balloon launch at Open Arms, 1321 IL-10, at 5:30 p.m., followed by a balloon glow from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. The downtown stage will feature Lick Creek at 8 p.m. The events are part of Lincoln’s Balloons Over 66 Weekend celebrating Route 66.
