(The Center Square) – A Mahomet man has been charged with fraud and failing to pay employment taxes to the Internal Revenue Service.
Prosecutors charged Hans Lee Grotelueschen, 56, with failing to pay the employer’s share of more than $859,000 collected from workers at his Champaign-based business, YG Financial Group, from 2018 through 2024.
Grotelueschen was also accused of fraudulently obtaining and improperly using pandemic-era loans.
TEEN CHARGED AFTER DOUBLE FATAL CRASH IN KNOX COUNTY
A Monmouth man is charged with reckless homicide and aggravated driving under the influence after a crash claimed two lives in Knox County.
State police said Brian Boyer, 19, was traveling the wrong way on Interstate 74 in Knoxville, IL early Sunday when the Chevrolet Malibu he was driving struck a motorcycle, killing both people on board.
Boyer was hospitalized with injuries and arrested upon his release.
FEDERAL, STATE, COUNTY OFFICIALS TO ASSESS STORM DAMAGE
Joint teams from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Illinois Emergency Management Agency – Office of Homeland Security, U.S. Small Business Administration and Cook County Department of Emergency Management and Regional Security will be in affected areas of Cook County this week to assess damage from severe storms on Aug. 11 and 12.
According to a statement from Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle’s office, team members will only assess exterior damage and will not enter homes or businesses.
