The Illinois Department of Transportation announced a road closure on westbound Illinois 9 (Empire Street) from Towanda Avenue to Colton Avenue near the north side of Bloomington High School starting Sept. 3.
The complete closure of Illinois 9 is necessary for a $15.4 million investment to reconstruct pavement on Illinois 9. This road closure will occur on Sept. 3, 4, and if necessary, Sept. 8 from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.
