
Due to the forecast for extreme cold, Illinois State University will close from 11 p.m. Tuesday, January 29 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday, January 31. Please note that evening classes and activities on Tuesday will continue as planned until 11 p.m. when the University closes.
Essential personnel should continue to report to work during the closure period.
Offices and campus buildings will be closed and locked and classes and activities will be cancelled on Wednesday, January 30. Residence halls and residence hall dining centers will remain open for students throughout the closure period. Classes and activities that begin before 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 31 are cancelled.
Weather forecasts call for extreme cold conditions with record- or near-record wind chills. Please use extreme caution during this period by limiting time outdoors and covering all exposed skin when facing the elements. During extreme cold conditions, frostbite can set in on exposed skin in a very short time.
