One of the most vocal anti-smoking advocates in Illinois says the state isn’t doing enough to stop people from smoking. The American Lung Association last week released its State of Tobacco Control report. Illinois gets a number of ‘F’ grades, the group says mainly because there aren’t enough laws to stop young people from smoking or vaping. The group wants both higher taxes on tobacco and a higher minimum age to buy cigarettes or other products. The Lung Association also says Illinois needs to spend more money on anti-smoking programs and to help people quit.
